Our beef is grass fed on our farm in Cut Bank, Montana, and finished with the barley we grow!
Beef will be ready in 2026. Can pick up in Valier or Kalispell.
Whole beef: $6.00/lb hanging weight
Half beef: $6.00/lb hanging weight
Prices are based on hanging weight, which is a weight the butcher gives us before it is cut; the hanging weight is usually about 60% of the live weight. Typically the average hanging weight estimate is around 650 lbs (this is an estimate and may vary), so for example a whole beef (cut and wrapped) would be $6 x 650 lbs = $3900, a half beef $6 x 325 lbs = $1950
The take home weight (after it has been cut and wrapped) is typically 65-70% of the hanging weight, so at 65% you could expect to take home: Whole 422 lbs, Half 211 lbs. Customer is responsible for the meat processor's kill fee (typically $135+) and their cut/wrap fee (which varies depending on which cuts you ask for, if you want sausage made, etc; typically around $1.10/lb to cure and wrap, based on the carcass weight).
A typical cut would include steaks, roasts, ground beef, and other cuts, packaged and frozen.
